Gwinnett Internal Medicine Associates prepares and educates their patients about the H1N1 Influenza ("Swine Flu").
The country continues to be vigilant in addressing the current Influenza H1N1 (swine flu) epidemic. As of May 4, 20 countries have reported disease with most reports coming from Mexico and the United States. This continues to be a situation where a novel flu virus is circulating in the U.S. and abroad to which there is no vaccine. This year's flu vaccine is not protective against swine flu. Thus far, the majority of reported cases in the U.S. have not required hospitalization and there has been one reported death. As the situation evolves, federal, state and local health departments are updating their information.
Gwinnnett Internal Medicine Associates is committed to helping our patients understand more about this flu.
